Located at the tip of the island of Manhattan, this site is one of the last remaining developable sites in Manhattan. My proposed 60 story tower features a solar-powered, interactive LED media skin creating a unique canvas of light on the facade, whose thickness further insulates the tower. Due to its position at the head of Manhattan, the tower is very visible from the harbor, Battery Park and the greenspace which blankets the tunnel entrance to the south of the site. The LED skin is a continuous sleeve which wraps around the inner volume, cut away by sunlight and programmatic needs, where it enters the interior volume, creating porches, and becoming the ceiling.   A vertical airshaft down the center of the tower takes advantage of the stack effect. As heat rises, turbines capture the air current.  Program is stacked vertically, broken by skylobbies: theater, library, office, boutique hotel, apartments and a dramatic event space at the top.
